Aromatherapy is the practice of using essential oils extracted from flowers, bark, stems, leaves, resin, roots or other parts of a plant. Aromatherapy has been used for centuries to soothe the body, mind and soul. It is thought that the ancient Egyptians were the first to distill essential oils from plants for medicinal use.

Essential oils are the volatile oils or fragrant essence of a plant. Volatile oils are what gives the aromatic plants their distinctive scent. The volatile oils are extracted from the plant parts in one of two ways. By steam distillation, expression and or pressing.

Aromatherapy may assist when feeling stressed or anxious, lacking concentrating, lethargic or having trouble sleeping. Essential oils can be blended to suit your needs and used in many forms such as massage oil, sprays, added to a bath, or used in an oil burner. It may also be used for house cleaning and as part of your beauty regime!
